"And Light Fell on Her Face Through Heavy Darkness" - Steel wire and poplar, 24"x18"x8"

I first became interested in wire sculpture after seeing an exhibit on Calder at the SFMoma. Almost from the beginning, I've toyed with the idea of making them 3-D. I knew right away that I didn't want to create a very realistic depiction of a 3-D form, and I thought that it could be interesting to see an abstract, almost organic shape, of grouped wire that would become an image when viewed from the right angle. That's why you really need to see this in person to get the full effect. Here's a video of it:
