Boulder Hybrid Conversions is a company based in Boulder, Colorado that converts Toyota Priuses and other hybrid cars into plug-in electric cars.
After looking at competitor's sites, it became obvious that a plug was the ubiquitous symbol of the plug-in hybrid conversion market. The "A-ha!" moment came when I realized you hardly every actually see a plug. It's usually, obviously, plugged into the wall. What we are much more used to seeing is the "two slot, half circle" cluster of the plug socket itself.

In order to make BHC a friendly, personal, trustworthy place, a place where you'd feel comfortable asking questions, and more importantly, taking your car, I developed an intensely local and personal website. Going to BHC would not be like going to Jiffy Lube where you wouldn't know who's going to be at the cash register. BHC is about the three skilled technicians who own the place. BHC is about Boulder. It's tone is friendly and conversational. It's look is a warm, hand-drawn look that feature the owners leaning against their plug-in vehicle with the Flatiron Mountains and a soft blue sky in the background. One large call-to-action that would draw you in and you explore the rest of the site. The look is also highly expandable, as informational and promotional videos could be modeled after a similar hand-drawn look.
